We are very excited to announce the availability of free US real-time ECN quotes on Yahoo! Finance.
Many of you will remember this was a very popular feature that Yahoo! Finance provided through August 2006 when due to consolidation in the marketplace and a new pricing structure it was removed. We’ve been listening to your feedback and have been looking at ways to bring back this feature. We have found a way to bringing back real-time ECN quotes by sourcing the data from BATS Trading.
If you are a newer user ECN stands for electronic communication network, and serves as alternative trading place to the various exchanges. BATS Trading is regarded as the third largest share trading market center in the US, and covers equities from NASDAQ, NYSE and Amex.
Initially, the real-time ECN quotes will be highlighted on the quote summary page.
Check it out on http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=yhoo, and watch your favorite stock in real-time. Let us know what you think!

The Realtime ticker is NOT a realtime quote system since it is delayed… You should DISCLOSE the delay on the Finance Page…

The real-time quotes streaming above the quote summary box are in fact provided in real time, as of the last trade. The data inside the summary box is delayed, as indicated in the text just below the data. You can refer to the following page for more information on real-time ECN quotes:
